An original 50 x 60 cm (20"x 24") abstract oil painting of a bear in a birch forest.

GBP 490.00

This is one of a set of four paintings with the theme 'European Brown Bear'. This is the last in the series and I decided to do some thing different for this, hence the abstract painting! One of my favourite trees is the silver birch and it is also Finland's national tree. Here in Finland's 100th year the opportunity presented itself to paint its national animal, the brown bear together with its national tree. I used a lot of blue as during the short Nordic spring I  enjoy seeing the pale blue of the sky on a sunny day reflected on the white trunks of these beautiful trees.

This painting will be shown and will be for sale at The Wildlife Artists' Association International annual exhibition at the Nature in Art Museum in Gloucestershire from 27th May to 4th June 2017.
