We have adopted a Spanish Greyhound (Galgo Espanol)

At last we have adopted a greyhound!
I have had a yearning for one of these hounds for quite sometime, and 30th August 2018 Tenshi came to live with us, and is my art studio assistant.

She was rescued from a 'kill station' by the galgo shelter, Galgo del Sur located in Cordova in southern Spain, in the spring, and brought to Finland by the Finnish charity Galgos Del Fenix mid-July. She was in a foster home for six weeks before coming to us in Helsinki.

Did someone say "treats?"
As far as we know she is 7 years old. These hounds are used as hunting dogs in Spain, so probably she has been hunting, and definitely has had puppies. She is a very sweet girl, very easy on the leash and even in the busiest streets of the city nothing phases her. We have travelled by public transport: train, bus and tram, and also by car. She has had a weekend at the summer cottage which she loved. Looking across some open fields I believe reminded her of her old hunting days in Spain and she gets extra vigilant when she sees a hare or a squirrel. Although really 'on point' in this situation she is amazingly quiet.
She is a real 'people person', bold and ready to meet anyone, and a real pleasure to have her as part of our family! She is already starting to feature in my art, so not only is she my studio assistance but also my muse <3
The photo below shows Tenshi with her new galgo boyfriend from our neighbourhood at the local dog park :)
