Breeze - Greyhound Memorial Portrait

This has been a wonderful project to work on.

At 40 x 50 cm the canvas size is perfect to do justice to such a beautiful subject. I usually advise not to include collars in portraits because they can detract from the subject. However, it was decided the scarf was very important, and I think it is a very nice addition to the painting.

This portrait is in memory of Breeze. He is very sadly missed and this portrait is going to be given as a surprise Christmas gift to his owners. I have a galgo Espanol (Spanish greyhound), so I know something of the loyalty of a greyhound which is something like no other and I can only imagine how much Breeze's owners are missing him.

They are never with us long enough and they will never be forgotten. A portrait like this is a very personal thoughtful gift that can be placed where everyone can see it, or hung privately to enjoy a quiet moment remembering a loyal best friend.

I paint dog portraits from photographs and you will find more information on commissioning a painting here >>>
