Badawi and His Hare

An Arabian sighthound or Sloughi and his hare.

Badawi had already passed, when my client asked me to paint him. She wanted him painted with a hare like the painting Into the Night of my galgo Espanol and a hare. She wanted the hare to the guardian of her beloved hounds final journal, and therefore wanted the colour of the hare to match the colour of Badawi. Such a wonderful idea for a memorial portrait.

My client provided me with many beautiful photographs of her beloved hound, including close ups of his eyes. This made my task of creating the painting easy. I have recently moved my studio, and among the chaos of the move this painting was a good distraction and helped me settle into my new workspace.
