Showing new paintings, and latest news.

I sell my art direct to collectors and therefore have the opportunity to discuss with them about their experience of buying paintings. Most will admit it is not so easy to find that certain piece, but when they do then the decision to buy is easy.

So, where to start? I would suggest subject and colour - not necessarily in that order and then size. If you choose a subject you are interested in or dare I say passionate about, the search immediately becomes easier. If the painting really has to be a certain size then so be it and then this type of search is a different matter. You have to live with the art, therefore how it speaks to you is more important than size. If the space is large then more than one painting could be bought for the space... just to make things more interesting. Collectors tell me the why is always important! Why was the painting created what is the story or meaning behind it.

The story behind this painting is as follows:

A domestic animal does not have much control over its life. It depends very much upon the humans that are responsible for it.

I have a galgo Espanol (Spanish sighthound) and she has been a very good dog for someone in her past, and well cared for. I can tell. She is a rescue dog from Spain. She loves people especially men and children. I believe she was a very good hunting dog for someone and I wonder how many litters of pups she has had. Someone decided her life was to end, but someone else decided she should be rescued. Someone decided she should come to Finland and go to a foster home. I was the lucky person who decided to adopt her!

I created this painting in a different style to my usual. I wanted to paint the form of a greyhound and include in it some symbols about the life of a greyhound, whether show, track or hunting hound. See if you can spot them!
